Welcome

The Playtrail is a unique outdoor play & educational facility located within the grounds of 2 special schools on the Racecourse Road, Derry.

The facility incorporates a number of significant play facilities (Junior Play Park, Adventure Play Area & Sensory Garden), woodland fairy walk, outdoor auditorium, a straw bale house (EcoBase) and community allotment scheme.  The Playtrail is 'animated' throughout the year with a range of play based activities and programmes.

All facilities are linked by an accessible trail network and car parking & toilet facilities are available.

Opening hours

The Playtrail is now open to the public until 6.00pm everyday.

Monday - Friday, Term Time: 3.15pm - 6.00pm
Saturday: 11.00am - 6.00pm
Sunday: 12.00pm - 6.00pm

Pond dipping, bug hunts, orienteering, camp craft, treasure hunts, nature art, parachute games, team challenges and much more.

Children must bring a packed lunch.

Limited availability - completion of Consent Form & Deposit of £10 will confirm a place. Bookings cannot be made via Facebook or telephone.
